Movie Review: W.

W. is the Oliver Stone movie detailing the life of President George W. Bush. I couldn't really decide if this movie was supposed to be serious or funny. It was a dramatic account of George W. Bush's life, but, at times, it seemed to go into a humorous mocking of him. Of course, this may have something to do with the fact that certain aspects of his life have been somewhat of a joke.

Josh Brolin actually does a pretty good job playing George W. Bush. Some of the other actors are good, too. However, I wouldn't say any of them are great. Thandie Newton's portrayal of Condoleezza Rice is the worst. It seems more like a SNL skit than a movie when she is in it. I don't foresee any Oscar nominations for this one.

All in all, I would say this movie is OK. It's not great, but it's also not terrible. If you have a specific dislike for the President, you'll probably think a lot of this movie is funny. If you like the President, you probably won't like it.

First Post!

To say that I'm not a "blogger" would be an understatement. I just thought I would try this out. I realize that, most likely, no one will read this. Tomorrow is my birthday (34...yuck) and Saturday is, of course, the big OU/Texas game. This seemed like as good a time as any to post my first blog entry. This week is usually a buzz of activity. This year it has been somewhat subdued, but it's been fun. It will be even more fun if the Sooners pull off another victory on Saturday. Anyway, that's it for now....
